Engineer Alex Carter fits a community water purification system. His neighbors, after being stopped from wasting water, falsely accuse him of poisoning it out of spite. Alex pays a fine and removes it. Soon the residents find their lives severely affected and beg him to reinstall it. But their selfishness costs them everything.
